Here, I have a video review/mini review of the iPhone 4S, explaining the exterior, features of iOS5, camera quality samples both photo and video (sorry couldn't find a way to shoot 1080P). The iPhone 4S felt the same in terms of texture just like the iPhone 4. Nothing new here, although when I was using the phone and its applications, the Apple A5 dual core processor just like in the iPad 2 gave it an additional performance which to my needs felt quiet satisfied. The new keyboard layout of iOS5 is amazing too, much easier to type on as opposed to iOS4 and previous versions of iOS. Compared to Gingerbread (Android 2.3), I'd say its on par, and this is with the stock keyboard I am referring to. Sadly there is no official Swype feature on the iPhone, otherwise I would have liked to compare the two.

Picture Quality:

HDR enabled 8MP

Non HDR 8MP

Picture Quality Test between iPhone 4S vs Samsung Galaxy S II:

SGS II 8MP

iPhone 4S Non HDR @ 8MP

Based on the picture quality of the iPhone 4S and those of the iPhone 4S vs the SGS II, the iPhone 4S has a clearer and much sharper picture. The camera on the 4S did shoot the pictures at a faster rate than that of the SGS II. The only drawback to both the camera and video camera option on the 4S is that, it doesn't have many features such as Exposure, Auto Focus, Face detection, Effects, etc unlike in most Android devices such as the SGS II. I guess what the iPhone 4S lacks in options makes it up in quality.

I cannot comment on voice call/quality or data speeds because I have not used an active sim card as of yet, but when I do get the chance, I'll be sure to update it.

In conclusion, I rate the iPhone 4S in hardware wise 8.5/10 and software wise 8/10.

If you have an iPhone 4, there's not much of a big difference, except the dual core processor and camera quality, but hey if you don't really care about processor speed or will be multi-tasking heavy duty, and have a point shoot or top of the line DSLR, then there's really no point in getting the iPhone 4S. iOS5 is compatible on the iPhone 4, as well as the 3GS. It does make sense to upgrade to the 4S from the 3GS if you have one.

However, I'll still stick to my SGS II just because I can do more with it and it suits/fits my daily needs.

Until next time, stay tuned for another smart phone review.

Cheers,
Emperuman
