Gmote

Accessing your files such as pdfs, PowerPoint presentations, music, movies and even surfing the web remotely could never be easier.

Thanks to Gmote, that can be achieved. Gmote is an Android app that can seamlessly connect to your WiFi network and can choose which PC/laptop you can view the files from and even control it. If you have set up your computer/laptop to your Big Screen TV, you might as well make use of this app by not getting up and using the computer manually.

By installing the Gmote server client on your computers, you can configure it by encrypting it and adding paths to your content. You can even stream the music and movies directly onto your phone. How neat is that?

Advanced Task Manager

First of sorry about the three day downtime. I was busy with a lot of errands and needed to get them done. I figure that you all were wondering "Where's the new reviews and such?"

This app is called Advanced Task Manager. Its for the Android, go figure! This is a paid app and its $0.99 on the Android Marketplace or you can get a Free version which doesn't have all the features as compared to the paid version. This program/utility basically manages all your applications, services and can uninstall programs too.

Vlingo, Dingo, Bingo!

For you Android users out there, you might have heard that Google has released there app called Google Voice Actions. The downside is that it is only available for Froyo/Android 2.2. So if you are stuck with Android 2.0 to 2.1 you pretty much have no choice. Wrong, there is an alternative. It is called Vlingo. It is pretty much like Google Voice Actions such as using your voice to send texts, emails, search the internet and also has a feature called Safe Reader where it can read any text or email you receive out loud. The downside to this is that you must be connected to either Wifi or your mobile network. Otherwise it wouldn’t work. You really have to be clear in what you say as well otherwise it will analyze something totally different.

Initially Vlingo was not free, but now since they have a competition up their sleeve, they decided to make it free. You can download Vlingo from the Android Marketplace itself. So go ahead and try out this app if it is something that interests you. Note this app is also available for the Iphone, Blackberry and Nokia. I am not too sure if its free for those platforms.

DJing Made Simple?

If you are a professional or side DJ such as myself with the really expensive equipment, racking up more than $2000 its worth it, but if you want to start DJing as a hobby or a career, it’s better to start off from the bottom and work yourself up the DJing ladder. Why you ask? Well you wouldn’t have any clue as to what’s going on correct? So why not make it easier for yourself and don’t invest a lot of money at the beginning.

An App With A Brain?

For those of you who are familiar with the current Apps on the Android Marketplace, you probably think “I need to find a certain app, but I cannot find it anywhere?” or “Hmm I wonder what the hot apps are at the moment?” Even if you do not have access to your phone at that very moment, you will probably try to go online and do research.

Well now you can, because there is such a thing that exists. It is called App Brain. Can you imagine, an application with a brain combined? That would be very productive, wouldn’t it? Taking a look at the website “www.appbrain.com”, one can go and look at all the reviews, recommendations, hot apps and even by category.
