Gmote

Accessing your files such as pdfs, PowerPoint presentations, music, movies and even surfing the web remotely could never be easier.

Thanks to Gmote, that can be achieved. Gmote is an Android app that can seamlessly connect to your WiFi network and can choose which PC/laptop you can view the files from and even control it. If you have set up your computer/laptop to your Big Screen TV, you might as well make use of this app by not getting up and using the computer manually.

By installing the Gmote server client on your computers, you can configure it by encrypting it and adding paths to your content. You can even stream the music and movies directly onto your phone. How neat is that?

Overall this is a great app for those who want to control their computer remotely and want to have an easy/quick access to their files. The cons are: a) no search feature on the app itself to search for files, b) it uses WiFi connection so you must have a strong WiFi signal or else it will keep on disconnecting and it can be pretty annoying.

So go ahead and grab this great app directly from the marketplace for free or get the donated version.
