Common Nexi Devices Guides

We all may have more than one Nexi device from the get go, or perhaps just one only, but hey its all the same procedures for the majority of them right?

In this thread or post rather, I will be showing you video demonstrations as well as written guides on how to perform certain methods on your Nexi devices.

HOW TO UN ROOT YOUR NEXUS DEVICE IF YOU ARE ON STOCK ANDROID!

This method is using the SuperSu method.

Remember that little useful app we installed using our stock/custom recoveries called SuperSu.zip to gain root access to our phones? Well with that same app we can use to un-root our phones.

Here's the method followed by the video:

1) Launch the SuperSu app on your phone.
2) Click on "Settings" on the upper right tab.
3) Scroll down till you see "Full unroot"
4) Click on it, read the disclaimer and then click on Continue.
5) Wait for it to un-root your Nexus device,
6) When its done, perform a reboot by turning off your device
7) Go to your recovery be it stock or custom and wipe cache and dalvik cache just to make sure it gets rid of those files. (OPTIONAL)
8. Turn on your phone and viola, you are no longer rooted as SuperSu is non existent in your App Drawer.

The video you are about to view demonstrates this process on my Nexus 4. As I have mentioned, it is the same for all Nexi devices.

HOW TO ROOT YOUR NEXUS DEVICE WITH STOCK RECOVERY

This method basically shows you how to root your Nexus device using the stock recovery option if you do not have a custom recovery installed. I am using a Nexus 4 as reference.

1) First off, open up CMD in Administrator Mode.

2) Change the directory to where you have the following files: a) ADB + Fastboot files, b) SuperSu.zip and c) your choice of custom recovery *PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE ONE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR NEXUS DEVICE*

3) Boot into Fastboot mode and connect your phone.

4). Type in the following command "fastboot boot *insert recovery name here*" The "boot" command boots your phone temporarily into the custom recovery of choice. In my case I am using TWRP for example. Booting into a custom recovery DOES NOT change anything to your phone vs flashing a custom recovery.

5) Once temporarily booted into the custom recovery, and just like before, click or select "Install". Then you select the zip file, reboot and you're good to go.

You have now successfully rooted your Nexus device using the stock recovery.

Below is a video guide showing you the above steps:
