This is What Android Should Have Been

Us computer savvy people know what Ubuntu is. For those who don't know, Ubuntu is a computer operating system (OS) that is derived from the Linux environment. Like Android OS, its solely free and open sourced.

Now the good news is that, wait for it... Ubuntu is in the works of making their very own smart phones in the coming year. So basically, as early as Q4 2013 or Q1 2014, you can expect to see smart phones running the Ubuntu operating system at a store/shelf near you.

Even better news, Ubuntu is releasing an image specifically for the Galaxy Nexus device. Those of you who are still holding on or rather clenching onto your Galaxy Nexus, well there's even a better reason now to make the most of your Galaxy Nexus. To those of you who want to experience this, well you better start looking out for a cheap, used Galaxy Nexus out there from Kijiji or Craigslist.

Personally, I cannot wait and I will be sure to get my hands on the image when it comes out later this month. You can expect a review of it running on the Galaxy Nexus plus instructional videos of how to install it on your Galaxy Nexus.

Update: It seems that the preview builds will be released for both the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus on Feb 21st, 2013.

This should be very exciting.
